Easy to use! Great setting selections.

This one replaces an older model we had. I do like some of the newer features, such as the “smart reheat” and “smart cook” buttons are perfect!

    Reliability issue

I am a fan of Breville: toaster, oven, espresso machine, and now microwave. However, the soft close door is broken after 1 year and now the microwave is dead after 3 years.

Loved this microwave until 2.5 years later it stopped working

I have many Breville appliances at my house, and I like them all. This is why, 3 years ago, I decided to get a Breville microwave. It worked well until one day last week, when it stopped working. I have tried resetting it to factory settings to no avail. It still doesn't work. The price I paid is too high for 3-year operations. After reading numerous reviews with similar issues, I am seeking a different brand of microwave. I am sad to lose confidence in the brand I like.

    Microwave is defective!

My microwave is defective. I purchased this just last year and the “smooth-close” door catches while closing, sometimes even bounces back which is concerning. Please help resolve!

    Just ok-not strong or sturdy

A good looking machine, but it doesn't seem to have a good deal of power, and it feels a little flimsy in terms of weight and structure. I am afraid that I might accidentally damage it if I am not very careful. Also takes a good deal of time to warm things. I'll likely replace it.

Some good features, some not so good

This microwave is very easy to use, it's quiet, and has some nice features. On the negative side, it's not as powerful as I expected and making popcorn in it can be a challenge. You either end up with burnt popcorn or a whole lot of uncooked kernels.

    Worked Well Until It Didn’t

Wow—so disappointed in this microwave. Worked really well for two years and 2 months but has now stopped heating food. A $400 microwave should have lasted far longer than that! Would only ever buy again with a protection plan in place.

    Stopped Heating in 17 Months

My husband and I were so pleased with this microwave in the beginning. Attractive design; and knobs, rather than push buttons, which greatly help my arthritic hands. However, over the last few days, we noticed that the food was coming out cold. The heating element has failed in 17 short months. Microwaves need to be more than attractive – they need to work. At this price, we would have never expected this. Very disappointed.

I love the soft-close door and all of the features

We have been using this for a couple of weeks, and we are delighted! So far, everything is working well and as advertised. The soft-close door, the configurable audibles, and the stainless steel finish are the highlights for us.

    All other microwaves are inferior

We bought this microwave 8 months ago. What attracted me to this microwave in the first place is the intuitive and rapid adjustment of both power and timer settings using dials. I was pleased that it works well, the settings adjusted by the dials are reflected on the nicely sized LCD screen. It is a whole lot easier to set the power level than in other microwaves - in fact you can quickly change the time and power while it is still cooking, using the dials. That is worth a lot to me. I don't want to have to laboriously press up and down power and time buttons ever again. Power level is good. It is at least as powerful as our Panasonic inverter microwave with a similar rating. Yes we have two microwaves in our kitchen. You can never have enough of them to have everything warmed up together, just before serving dinner. Maybe one can specialize in cooking popcorn, some people say this one doesn't do a good job with popcorn. In any case, I still greatly prefer using this Breville Microwave. The smart cook feature cooks rice better than all the other microwaves we have used. We like long grain rice, and it cooks the Mahatma basmati rice perfectly at the usual 2:1 water-rice ratio. This could be a big deal if you eat a lot of rice. The other smart cook features we have tried with vegetables have worked well. The soft close feature works well. I am careful to close the door gently, to try and prevent future problems. It has an unusual feature that the fan often stays on after the microwave is finished. That is probably a good thing because heat is the enemy of all sensitive electronic components.
