Use & Care
Use
- Always use caution when handling sharp objects.
- Avoid cutting on hard surfaces such as stone, metal and glass.
- It is not advisable to use any knife but a meat cleaver to cut through bone, as other blades can be easily damaged.
Care
- Hand-wash with warm water and mild detergent. Avoid using cleaners that contain bleach and citrus extracts.
- Rinse and dry immediately.
- Use honing steel regularly to maintain cutting edges of blades.
- Sharpen as needed. With regular use and honing, knives should not need sharpening more than once or twice per year.
- Sharpen straight-edge knives using whetstone or knife sharpener, or have them sharpened by a professional.
- Sharpen serrated knives using sharpener specifically designed for serrated blades or have them sharpened by a professional.
- Store knives in safe place to protect edges and prevent injury.

Chefs knife
Love this knife. Cuts easily. I never thought I would need a knife this large, but I was wrong. Wish I had bought it years ago.

My ‘good knife’
This knife is already for me what my mother used to call her ‘good knife’. The best knife I own, right for most kitchen tasks and a great value to boot.

Deplorable Business Practices-Will NEVER buy again
While I cannot speak highly enough of the product itself, Williams Sonoma gets a 0/5 for their abysmal business practices and complete lack of customer support. When I placed and paid for my order, the knife block was evidently back ordered despite this not being communicated to me. Each time it supposedly came back in stock, a total of four separate times, I was charged AGAIN for the same knifeblock I had paid for and was still waiting on. Each additional charge was followed with a phone call to Williams Sonoma in order to argue for a refund for the additional charge, which was a 15-20 minute phone call each time. I was never offered a single apology. I eventually did receive my knifeblock, which is great quality and fantastic all around, but after spending an hour and half of my life asking to please only be charged once, and being instead charged five times for one knife block, I will never buy from William Sonoma again.

These steak knives make even tough steak slice like butter!!
These steak knives are extremely sharp. Be careful with them. They are made so water cannot seep from the blade into the handle. I always hand wash the All-Clad knives. It is my thought that dishwashing them will dull them. Right or wrong, it only takes a short time to hand wash them, dry and put away. I keep all my knives in the paper sheath they came in. The black handle is riveted and is sure to last my lifetime and the one I have willed them to. Such a great buy!
